Look Back

Puddles splash and thunder
Hot black tar bubbling beneath the burn of summer
Swinging at the park
Playing endless games
Simple days when I was younger

Back then the place that nourtured me
Spun with narrow alleys
Tired homes lined one two three
The river flowing endlessly
Its constant hissing as I slumber

I close my eyes
The years they fade
Adolescents leaves the stage
A boy I am to be no more
To challenge lifes revolving door

To this day as I look back
No wonder that I'm still intact
I've done some things I've swept away
Still others come to test demise
Rise and fall of every day
