A Triboro Coach Q23 crosses over from
108th Street for the Continental Avenue portion of its run long.
It starts way up by LaGuardia Airport in East Elmhurst and has
a fairly normal run along 108th Street as it passes through Corona
and Northern Forest Hills. Once it leaves Continental, however,
on the south side of the LIRR, things get very wierd. It loops
around itself it spots, like a dog chasing its tail, ending up
in a long one-way loop around Metroplitan Avenue, Woodhaven Blvd
and Union Tpke before it finally returns to its normal north-south
routes. Cautionary signs are all over the place below, as impatient
pedestrians mass just off the curb in anticipation of a light
change, heedless to the possibility, however remote, that a vehicle
like that yellow truck might somehow fly out of control and clip
them. |
