Thank you Jill for all the photo's!

Christopher Adam Rubright was born near Baltimore, Maryland about 1849 son of Bernard Rubright (Bernhard Rupprecht) and Marie Christian Lauderbach (also known as Mary C.) After the death of his father in 1850, his mother remarried to Daniel Dorman. The family moved from Maryland to Williamsport, Pennsylvania about 1859 where Christopher remained until his death in 1936.

Due to the fact that he and his oldest brother Charles A. Rubright had the same initial's, it is sometimes hard to determine which of the brothers owned what business. Both were very involved in the brick manufacturing/contracting business and are credited with building over one thousand of the buildings in Williamsport including the train stations. From directory listings, we do know he owned the Rubright & Dorman Company in 1877-1879 with his half brother Harry O. Dorman. From 1880- the 1930 he had his own business as Harry moved to Corning to go into business with Charles.

Christopher married Harriet J. Christine October 11, 1877 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. They had six daughters, Edna J., Caroline Blanche, Mabel F., Edith L., Ruby, and Lula. The family lived mostly at 502 Mulberry Street. Edna, Mabel and Edith are the only girls to marry and Edna was the only girl to have children.
