Henry Otto Dorman (also known as Harry O. Dorman) was born September 1852 in Maryland, son of Daniel Dorman and Marie Christian Lauderbach Rubright (also known as Mary C.). About 1859 the family moved to Williamsport, Pennsylvania where they became very prominent in the community being in the brick/contracting and mercantile businesses.
Henry O. Dorman married Martha Regina Winner in Williamsport on September 7, 1876. They had six children, Raymond O., Elizabeth W., Mary R., Cora B., Harry L., and Martha L. Dorman. The Dorman family moved to Corning, New York where Henry engaged in business with his brother Charles A. Rubright in the firm of Rubright & Dorman, operating the business of the Corning Brick and Terra Cotta Works.

The fiftieth anniversary of their marriage that was solemnized in Williamsport Sept. 7, 1876, was celebrated on Tuesday in Corning, N. Y by Mr. and Mrs. Henry O. Dorman. No invitations were issued, but many friends who learned of the anniversary called on the couple to extend congratulations. Mrs. Dorman before her marriage was Miss Martha Regina Winner. Nine years later, the couple went from Williamsport to Corning, where they have since resided. Mr. Dorman engaged in the contracting business, his first work being the erection of a large building in the Corning Business section. In the 41 years he and his wife have lived there, Mr. Dorman has erected more than 66 buildings of all kinds. Mr. and Mrs. Dorman are members of the First Methodist Episcopal Church of Corning. They have six children. Among those who visited the couple Tuesday were Mrs. Guy Arnold, of Hughesville; Mrs. Sarah Winner and Mr. and Mrs. Hazard Chase and daughter June of Williamsport; Mr. and Mrs. Harry J. Arnold of Hughesville and Mrs. Maude Andrews of Williamsport.

Dorman- Henry O. Dorman, formerly of this city, died recently at his home in Corning, N.Y. Mr. Dorman was born in Jarrettsville, Md., but was educated and entered business here. Forty-seven years ago he moved to Corning at the invitation of his half-brother, Capt. Charles A. Rubright, and there he entered the brick-making and contracting business with Capt. Rubright. He retired from active business about nine years ago. Mr. Dorman was married to Martha Regina Winner, of this city, in 1876. He leaves his wife; six children; Mrs. Elizabeth W. Shakelton and Mary R., at home; Mrs. D. H. Rose, of Painted Post; Mrs. H. C. Hotchkiss, of Racine, Wis.; Dr. Raymond O. Dorman, of Binghamton, and Harry L. Dorman of Corning; and a half-brother Christopher Rubright, of this city. Services were held Tuesday at the home in Corning.
