Margaret Sweeny Hogan
This is the only known photo of Margaret and none have been found of John Hogan.
I have always been told Margaret's maiden name was SWEENEY, but with receipt of her daughter Margaret's birth record, I find her maiden name may have been Cullen.
I have little information on the Hogan family. I know John Hogan was born May 1855 in Tipperary, Ireland and died in 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts. Margaret Sweeny born June 1870 and died in 1938 in Boston Massachusetts. Margaret was raised in an orphanage. The 1900 census states the John immigrated in 1880 and Margaret Sweeny immigrated in 1893, and they married about 1895, I believe in Boston, Massachusetts. That has to be verified.
The couple lived in Boston, Massachusetts and had three children, two of which, James and Margaret were put in an orphanage at a young age by their father. It is believed the couple tried to get the children back but it was unsuccessful.
1) James Hogan b. abt. 1898 d. age 15 - James ran away from the orphanage and was hit by a train and killed.
2) Margaret Hogan b. abt. 1899-1900 d. Dec. 1, 1989, the family lost contact with Margaret after the death of her mother. Thanks to her granddaughter, Tracy, I have been able to fill in the gaps I have on Margaret.
3) Mary Ellen Hogan: b. 1902 d. 1994 married Patrick Henry O'Reilly.

Obituary of Margaret Sweeny Hogan
Dorchester Widow Among Bus Victims.
A 65 year old widow, Mrs. Margaret Hogan of 71 Hancock St., Dorchester was one of the passengers killed in the bus crash at Oxford this morning. Mrs. Hogan who has been living with her daughter Mrs. Patrick O'Reilly, was returning from New York after spending the weekend with her nephew, James Keough, a New York police officer.
According to Mrs. O'Reilly, her mother left her home last week to visit her nephew. Mrs. Hogan left last night on receipt of a letter she received from her daughter yesterday.

Obituary of Margaret Hogan Vayo
It is thought Margaret Hogan may have been adopted by the family of Thomas and Mary "Marie" Berube. They had five children of their own, Jeanie "Eugenie", Luke, Alice, Charles, and Albert. The 1910 census, in Woonsocket, Providence, Rhode Island, these children are listed along with an adopted daughter "Anna" (Margaret Hogan often used the name Anna). The 1920 census has the family living in Fitchburg, Worcester Co., Mass on Sheridan Street.
A photo was found in a collection that belonged to Margaret Hogan. The woman second from the left is Margaret. The other's unknown. I was wondering if it might be adopted mother Mary "Marie" on the far right, Jeanie "Eugenie" the first woman on the left and the woman on the right of Margaret maybe Alice Berube? Is there anyone that recognizes this photo? Please email me. We are trying to put together Margaret's life from the orphanage.

I know little of James Kehoe (Keough) other than information I have from the 1930 census record, Social Security Record and his Police Employment records. How he is related to Margaret Hogan is a mystery I hope to solve soon. I know family member's remember Lillian Kehoe and Margaret Keating being related, but they are not sure how.
