Neil returned to folk music
with this effort and it is considered somewhat of a comeback album. The album was
originally going to be called Give To The Wind. Some promotional copies were
pressed with this name and are now very valuable. Neil was unhappy with the original song
sequencing of this album ("Piece Of Mind" and "Lotta Love" were
swapped. Neil bought the 200,000 copies of the album that Reprise had already pressed for
$160,000. "Motorcycle Mama" is a song Neil wrote after watching a woman in Ft.
Lauderdale fall off her bar stool.
