Everybody's Rockin' was released in 1983 by Neil Young & The Shocking Pinks. Musicians on this album were: Neil Young: vocals, piano,
guitar, harmonica Neil had finished an album in the vein of Harvest and Comes A Time. Geffen Records rejected it and actually bought the rights to Everybody's Rockin' from Reprise, where it was to have been Neil's last album under his Reprise deal, and released Everybody's Rockin' instead. After the release of this album, David Geffen sued Neil for making "uncommercial" records. As a part of the suit, Geffen demanded that Neil repay the $3 million dollars (US) he had received for Trans and Everybody's Rockin'. Neil responded by countersuing Geffen for $21 million dollars (US), charging breach of contract and fraud. Both suits were dropped in 1985. As a result of these lawsuits, 1984 became the first year that Neil (or a band he was in) did not release an album. Neil considers this one of his best albums, Trans being another.
