This is Neil Young's
"country" album. Some of his other stuff could be called near-country, but this
is pure country. Neil and the International Harvesters (his backup band) performed several
of these songs on their 1984 tour (the period in which Neil was unable to record due to
litigation with Geffen Records). There are several familiar names in the musician's list.
Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Bela Fleck are well known for their solo work. Ben
Keith and Tim Drummond have appeared on several other Neil Young albums. Waylon Jennings
later recorded a cover version of "Are There Any More Real Cowboys".
