Almost gave in to a moment of weakness when I went grocery shopping today. I was soooo tired. At one point my mind said, "You're probably going to go over points tomorrow at the Bat Mitzvah, so go ahead and get some candy." But I touched my 10% Keychain and reminded myself that I want to stick to my Program as closely as possible so that I don't wind up setting myself back even more. If I do go over Points tomorrow, I want it NOT to be because I willfully did so, but because it's often hard to judge the actual Points for things made by someone else! Hopefully, having the Saved Points plus having exercised every day this week will help me stay within my Points tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Sat., 12:48PM EST: The Bat Mitzvah reception starts at 7PM (the services are at 4PM). I have no idea what will be served at the reception, but I will try to make moderate choices. Will probably not get a chance to update this until sometime tomorrow.

Sun., 6:47PM EST: Wound up not having the oatmeal I'd planned to have. Just didn't feel hungry, and I figured I might as well save the Points for the Bat Mitzvah.

As you can see, I pretty much ate whatever I wanted. I turned down things I felt I just didn't want to waste Points on (there were lots of fried and stuffed appetizers plus various desserts) and only took a bite of things I thought didn't taste that good! I know I could have had diet soda, but I decided to drink lots of water instead. I didn't dance much because the music really didn't make me feel like dancing. Since I didn't really have much dessert at the Bat Mitzvah, I decided later to accept some of the candy my daughter offered me from her "goodie bag." Yes, I know... this wasn't the most nutritious day, but I don't want to feel deprived!

Have decided to make Sundays my first day of Journalling from now on. That will reflect my weigh-ins better.So this entry is now the end of the week.

I have no idea why I went overboard. I was doing so well, but when I picked up my daughter from the train station and she asked me to drive her to get Sushi instead of eating the Tuna Salad sandwich I'd planned to make, something started to "snap." I don't like changes in plans, and I guess I've been feeling bad that lately she hasn't wanted to eat what I've cooked. But that's a really silly reason to overeat! I really have to think about this one a bit more.

My son, husband, and I are going to a friend's for Thanksgiving. I will try to be cognizant of what I'm eating. But somehow I'm not very optimistic. I will work on this attitude on the trip there! I'm very tired (didn't sleep well) and annoyed at myself, but I'm trying not to beat myself up over this slip. I'm bringing some microwaved vegetables (uses only a little fat and except for the snap peas, all 0 Point vegetables) so I know I'll have some side dish that won't be Point-dense!

Did horribly. Barely even tried to stick to my plan! One of the "mistakes" I made was buying the Jelly Rings to bring. I'd made the vegetable dish (lots of work chopping vegetables), so I really didn't have to bring anything else, but I caved in to an impulse. In the past I have bought them as a gift for someone, eaten a limited amount, and it didn't cause me to overeat, but this time was different. Puzzling.

I know I have trouble dealing with holidays, and I'm getting better at accepting that I'm not perfect, but I'm really disappointed at myself for not trying harder. It was almost as if I said, "It's a holiday, I shouldn't have to stick to any food plan! I'll eat whatever I want to if I want to!!!" A very babyish attitude! The only thing I did "right" was not taking seconds of the turkey! BTW... even though I hadn't eaten breakfast or lunch, I really wasn't hungry, so I can't blame it on that. I just was rebelling, I guess. I'm sorry I let myself and you all down. Hopefully I will get right back on track and accept my "punishment" (a bad weigh-in on Sunday is almost guaranteed). I will NOT give up!
