Prior to the reappearance of the Inorganic Angel Rosiel, Metatron was the supreme ruler of heaven, but in name only. Since Metatron was only a child, Prime Minister Sevothtarte acted as his regent. Metatron has no companions besides mindless Sisters, and so he is very jealous of the time that Sevothtarte spends away from him, and prone to throwing tantrums. However, Metatron also has prophetic dreams shown to him by his bodiless twin Sandalphon who speaks to his older brother through his cherished stuffed toy, Mr. Rabbit. These horrific dreams frighten not only Metatron, but Sevothtarte as well who gives Metatron drugs to suppress Sandalphon’s consciousness.

Metatron – Called the Prince of the Divine Presence, and the King of Angels, Metatron is the angel of the Covenant, charged with the sustenance of all mankind. He is the angelic ruler of the 7th heaven, Araboth, and acts as the Voice of God, the link between humanity and the divine. He represents both the 1st and the last of the 10 sephiroth, Keter (crown) and Malkhut (kingdom).
