In the last six months there have been a lot of auctions for saltwater lures and I've tried to include a sampling of the most interesting ones. Prices were still high in the first quarter but have leveled off a bit now. Although rare and early pieces are still strong because there isn't much saltwater stuff turning up from the field.

The first one is for a seldom seen lure from a little known New Jersey company. Made by J & J Tackle Co., the lure is called a Bass Bubbler and it comes in an almost freshwater size. Selling for only $20.50, this was a steal for this piece which was new new the original box. It's pictured below.

Second up is a Floyd Roman Sandee. Silver flash like in color and in it's original box the lure sold for $408.99. A nice little New England Saltwater piece at a very nice price for the seller.

Third up in January is a wooden Atom swimmer. There were three of these sold back in the end of January and each brought around $137.00 to $203.00 each. This one sold for $202.50. Wow, these usually sell for around $75.00-$100.00.

Fourth up from February is a J & H Wig-Lit. It sold for $215.19. Box looks beat up but the lure is tough to find.

Next up is a beautiful Snook Bait Co. Big Popper in Silver flash color. What a stunning piece! Selling in the middle of May, this large Popper sold for $455.00. Snook Bait Co. lures in boxes still bring high prices on ebay.

Next is another Snook Bait Co. lure. Advertised as a medium Swimmer it sold for $308.00.

This Stan Gibbs swimmer is a rare and never seen Gibbs lure. I've only seen two in all my years of collecting. Selling for $127.50 this was a great buy. Congratulations to the bidder who won it.

Another rare Stan Gibbs lure, this was made out of balsa wood to look like a Rapala. It sold for $170.50. It's pictured below.

Next up is a Masterlure swimmer in red head white color. This one sold in June for only $87.99. Looks like a nice piece and a good buy for the winner.

Last up was another Emmerson & Ruhren Surface lure in rainbow that was just like the one that sold on ebay last December. This time (February) it was seen by most of the saltwater collectors and sold for $887.00. Nice!

That's it for now!
