& Poetry Here you will find some of my peotry and thoughts along with some quotes which I have found in my reading. Thinking on the history of religions of the world, I come to a conclusion. When man was first of a thinking mind on this Earth, the Divine Power, whatever and whoever it may be, appeared to man in the purest spirit, which it is still. But in the course of human progression and understanding, was given human aspects to better understand it. This caused the formation of many religions throughout the world. Each man bringing the aspects which helped him to better understand and feel closest to the Divine. I was recently asked {by a christian} about my beliefs, and how I can believe that all paths can be right. This is probably because the christian faith believes that they are the only true way, which makes all others wrong by their standards. Well, here is my reply. I believe that everything came from one being or entity, which brings a unity to everything. I believe that all the gods and goddesses and any other types of dieties that are worshipped around the world are all merely different aspects of the same One God. Just as in the pagan faiths, we all have different names for the Goddess and the God I believe that it is the same through all the faiths. Whether you worship Isis, Aphrodite, the Lord of Greenwood, Buddha, the Christian God, etc., I believe that they are only different names or personalities for the same One Being. The differences are just how we woship them just as no person is the same as another each person has a different way of praising the creator. Even people who follow the same path dont do exactly the same things when praying and woshipping. The Christian faith itself has so many branches that all worship in different ways and believe different things, yet they all claim the same god. The pagan faiths are the same, each wiccan has his or her own beliefs, druids have their own branches and beliefs. If there is that much difference in beliefs, even when in the same faith then how could you possibly say that one is right and all others are wrong? Noone could have such great knowledge as to know. I believe that all these different ways are just our many different personalities following what our hearts tell us how to worship. So in that, this is how I believe that we all worship the same god, its only our different ways of doing so. RavenStar~April 19,2000 Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it has been handed down for many generations. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is written in Holy Scriptures. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of teachers, elders, and wisemen. Believe only after careful observation and analysis. When you find that it agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it. ~"The Buddha on Belief" from the "Kalama Sutta"~ Can you see as I see? Do you hear the wind whisper in your ear? Do you notice the trees on these busy city streets? Have you ever looked out your window on a clear nite to be taken away by the beauty of the nite sky? Can you see past the grime of the streets and look at the beauty all around? Do you actually see our beautiful Mother Earth as you look through tainted eyes? RavenStar~March 2000 To My Beloved Desires that the spring should come the season of life anew. That is when we together shall be to begin our lives anew. Oh how I long to hear that joyous song of the robins in their nests, telling me that our time is drawing near. When these dreary winter days are through and the sun begins to break out from its captive cell behind the clouds to shed its warmth giving light upon all. I yearn to see these sad snows of the past melting away so quickly from the heat. And as the sun burns through warming the land, it shall turn all this sorrowful grey into wonderous color. It is then that we shall be reunited and our love may blossom like that of all the delicate flowers in the garden. Yet if my spring should never come, then I be damned, for I could not endure throughout eternity, frozen in this dreadful winter. Yet if my spring shall come what happiness it will bring and many wishes to speak. That spring shall turn to summer and back to spring again. We do not need the autumn with all the death it allows, for where you find the autumn, the winter surely follows. RavenStar~February 2000 never again & rose bar graphics by graphics this page |
