A quick comment: Back to Review A-II Back to Ultra Magnus Homepage I had to wait for Ultra Magnus mini head statue to go on clearance before purchased him from online. If this wasn't a repaint of Optimus Prime head, then I'll probably get it right away. After many searches, I stumbled into ActionFigureXpress who sold the Ultra Magnus statue for only $XX.L (XXX.LXX) so I snatched. I got Ultra Magnus mini head statue on Sept. Xii, Mmviii.

These images were mostly photographed and scanned by me. If there's a section or image that owned by you and I didn't give you credit, please Email Me and I'll make the correction. Have fun. - Click on the Thumbnails to view them at a Larger Scale - [Thumbnail Size = 100xHeight] R-1 The Box: Magnus Diamond select Mini-Head statue comes in a 4 side colorful image whose box measured approximately 6 X 4 3/4 X 4 1/4 (LxWxD in inch). The art of the box is inspired by the Dreamwave Comic which was drawn by Pat Lee. On the top of the panel, there is the large Transformers logo while the bottom showed what quantity you are owning for this particular statue. |
R-2 Magnus Diamond Select Mini-Head Replica in its Original condition: 1 - Magnus Diamond select Mini-Head in its brand new condition from the box. 2 - Underneath of the outer cover box, we are exposed to the Magnus head sandwiched between the two plastic tray. The unsealed paper work in the bag is folded behind the white tray. 3 - These are all the contents that were included in the box/ package/ card: "1" magnus head, "1" certificate of authenticity, "1" mail back post card. |
R-3 Magnus Diamond Select Mini-Head Replica - Certificate of Authenticity: This is a close up image of the Certificate of Authenticity - just like a typical post card paper. It showed the artist name, the number of figure that you are owning, and the actual image of the figure. Before you start to analyze Magnus head, be sure the number on the bottom of the box, certification of authenticity, and the number on the bottom of the bust base match with one another. The reason is to avoid the tampering should the figure or box got switched from consumer to consumer or mistake from factory. This is only real relevant if you are planning to resell later on. Otherwise, it's meaning less. So for this Magnus head, I am owning #183 of 600. |
R-4 Magnus Diamond Select Mini-Head Replica - Frontal View: Magnus mini-head was manufactured by Diamond select and released in 2006 at a New York City Comic Convention, hence the name, and 600 were made. Obviously, this is a redeco of the Optimus Prime mini-head which was released in a large quantity of 5,000. This miniature head measures approximately 4 (or 4 10/16 tip of the ear) x 3 x 3 1/8 (LxWxD in inch) and is all painted. Although only 4 10/16 inch, this mini-head statue is actually heavy. I'm not sure if this statue has die cast metal or not but it certainly feels and looks like it has one. Also, since I'm no statue expert, I really can't tell whether it is made out of cold cast porcelain, resin, , polystone, polyresin, etc. Otherwise, Magnus mini-head is utterly sculpted beautifully and well design. It is highly detail with lines and grooves. Paint applications, the eyes are more of dark orange than red. Magnus mouth plate, forehead, and two small section of the base are painted with a lighter shade of blue like cyan. Definitely not blue as in blue when compared that to image on the Certificate of Authenticity. The rest of the head is painted in silver. On the front of the base, there is the name plate with the red Autobot insignia on it. This name plate tag is actually removable, so be careful, it could fall off.
Currently, there are 5 statues of Ultra Magnus that got released so far: Three statues are with the armor on and two are the white Prime repaint or just Magnus. Here are the full list of Ultra Magnus statues: Hard Hero Ultra Magnus bust 2004, Palisades Magnus statue 2004, AFX Ultra Magnus Super Deformed 2006, Diamond Select Magnus Mini-Head 2006, Diamond Select Ultra Magnus Bust 2009. |
R-5 Magnus Diamond Select Mini-Head Replica - Side and Rear View: Here are the left side and rear view of the Magnus mini-head. Again, those lines and grooves on the head, ears, and base are even more prominent from the side and rear than the front. They are well drawn and their positions look very convincing. The ears are pointy as though as it was based on the anime style. Make sure you don't drop the statue and hit the floor from the ear first, that will definitely break the ear especially when it's slender and pointy. |
R-6 Magnus Diamond Select Mini-Head Replica - Top and Under View: The left image is the top view of the statue while the right side is the underside view of the statue base. Underneath the statue, the base is fully painted in black. In addition, you'll find 4 circular black fabric which acts as a stopper to prevent the whole statue from sliding. Also, this is where the copyrights, the total quantity, and what quantity you are owning are all written in here. The number pertaining to your ownership is in hand numbered style while the rest of the text are preprinted. |
