What there is to know about college admissions?
When filling out college admissions, it may seem to be very easy. The only hard part about it might seem to be whether you get accepted or not.
A few schools may
be easy to be admitted into but on the other
hand, most schools involve competition. For example NYU's
admissions are "highly selective" and would involve a review of the persons
"academic skills or background, standardized test scores, application essays,
and a recommendation" says NYU's web site. While in order to make it into
Columbia University you have to also impress the admissions counselor.
Filling out an application
may be hard, being that there are two
types of applications, which include:
Personalized Applications,
and the
Booklet Applications.
You must choose only one.
The personal application is a single
sheet of paper with the student's transcript. The Booklet application is
a standard application to apply for baccalaureate programs at your first-choice
college says www.Cuny.com. Most colleges want you to submit your SAT or
ACT scores and maybe even your
Regents scores.
In a study of Private Colleges
and Universities, one of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) about college
admissions was:
"Will anyone really read my application essay?"
This was a good question because some colleges may want
you to submit an essay with your admissions form. The reply was "Yes" because
this would be an excellent time to present yourself by revealing things
about yourself that couldn't be known through a transcript or through tests.
In order for the admissions process to be on your good foot, your academic records should be presentable and you need to meet your deadlines. Skills and interests should also be included.
Hope You DoWell!
Enjoy!
