Centaurs

Centaurs historically originated in Babylonia according to the line of History. This is just a human history line so it is of course not completely accurate, but it’s as close as we will get to the truth without spreading rumors, so this is what I chose to use. I will also give you a look at the Greek Mythological history of centaurs, which is, although not true, another interesting look at the mystical creatures.

Centaurs of their original homeland were half-man and half-horse. The top half (from the waist up) is the form of a man (or woman), and the bottom (waist and down) is the body of the horse, complete with legs and hooves, for excellent for running. Their top half (particularly the males) carry bow and arrow at their prime weapon. These Centaurs were guardian spirits, protective of their land, friends and family. The word “centaur” means “those who round up bulls,” which probably helps explain their strength and will.

According to Greek Mythology, however, the opinion of centaurs were very different. Before I even think of telling you of the Greek story, I’d like to make note that this is just a myth and not even close to the truth. It is just a story, made up to explain something they could not.

As the story goes, Chiron, originally Titan (son of Cronus, the ocean nymph of Phylyra), dared to make war against the gods of Olympus, and was punished by being made half horse, but still half man.

It was also said that the heritage of the centaurs, we cruel, evil creatures. That they murdered and raped the cities’ women. They got in many murderous fights and killed humans as well as each other. But as I have said many times, that is just a myth, and far from the truth of the well-being, yet aggreeably aggressive creatures.

The centaurs do exist, contrare to popular opinion. They may exist on earth, or on another world, or dimension, one that may never be seen my human eyes. But it’s better that way I assure you. Sometimes you just believe things because they are so, not because they make sense.

There is also a decenstion of the legendary and historical centaurs: Kallikantzaroi- ‘good centaurs.’
