Crystals can be very effective in magick and everyday life. Here are some common associations for a few crystals. There are tons of places to find these rocks, whether in a nauture store or in nature. I feel that shape is important too, as well as clarity and size. Some stones I have are small while I have some larger. A lot of it comes down to personal preference. In choosing a stone, you should be able to feel the energy in it while holding it. If that sounds silly to you, you probably shouldn't be perusing this page. While holding the stone in your hand, it should feel like it 'fits' in your hand, kind of like it was shaped by you. And you should definitly be able to feel it's energies. If you can't, then it probably isn't the stone for you. Keep looking.

Amethyst: It has been called the 'Addict's Stone' because of its properties to lessen problems with unwanted habits and addictions; also illnesses associated with overindulgence. It helps relieve stress and anger, as well as depression. It enhances mental and emotional stability, psychic abilities, and intuition. It can help keep you from having nightmares and bring prophetic dreams. Its chakra association is the Crown and Third Eye.

Agate: It helps lessen stress and depression, and it enhances the ability to cope with a change in a positive way, and offers protection and emotional comforts. Its chakra association is to activate the Crown.

Apache Tear: Alot of times, it's carried for good luck, and it's also used to aid in divination and for protection.

Calcite: It comes in three colors variations, clear/white, green, and gold.
Clear/white: It can help lessen a sense of being lost spiritually, and can enhance spirituality. Its chakra association is the Crown.
Greens: It helps lessen mental imbalances, and enhances healing abiliites and communication within one's self. Its chakra association is the Heart.
Golds: It can help lessen problems with memory, and enhances psychic ability and astral projections, as well as one's ability to use those powers for good. The chakra associations are the Third Eye and Solar Plexus.


Citrine: Sometimes called the 'success' stone, it helps lessen depression and self doubt, as well as mood swings. It enhances mental clarity, will power, happiness, success, and confidence. Its chakra association is the Solar Plexus.

Chevron amethyst: Is amethyst banded with other minerals, usually quartz. It lessens one's resistance to self awareness, and enhances peace of mind and relaxation. Its chakra association is Third Eye and Crown.

Flourite: It comes in many colors, all are good for truth, protection, and cleansing.
Purple: It lessnes spiritual confusion, and enhances psychic powers.
Clear: It lessens the feeling of being unattached to your beliefs, and enhances serenity and consiousness.
Blue: It lessens emotional imbalances, and it enhances emotional tranquility.
Green: It lessens one's lack of self-love, and helps enhance healing across all levels.

Hematite: It helps ground you and helps with health issues. It also can protect you physically and emotionally. Labradorite:It lessens insominia or weakness and negativity of an aura. It enhances psychic abilities and personal strengths. Its chakra association is the Third Eye.

Malachite: It assists in clearing and activating all chakras. It is used as an equalizing and balancing agent. Represents loyalty and fidelity. Helps one to accept responsibility for actions.

Obsidian: It lessens fear and instability, and enhances balance during change. Its chakra association is Root.

Onyx: It lessens energy drain, can help enhance childbirth, stamina, wound healing, and will power. Its chakra association is Base.

Opal: It can aid in remembering past lives, and are also thought to help soften karmic retribution. It can also be charged for any magickal purpose, because it contains all the colors of the spectrum.

Pyrite: It aides in digestion and the circulatory system. It lessens anxiety, depression, and enhances creativity, and memory.

Quartzes: These are considered great all-around stones and are used frequently in meditaion.
Clear Quartz: It lessens negativity and toxins, and enhances healing and self alignment. It cleanses mind and body, and amplifies energy. Its chakra association is Crown.
Rose Quartz: It lessens fear, anger, and resentment, and enhances forgiveness, compassion, and love. Its chakra association is Heart.
Smokey Quartz: It's coloring is smokey browns, blacks, and greys. It lessens fear and unhappiness, balances sexual energy, and enhances stability, realism, calmness, grounding, and offers comfort. Its chakra association is Root.
Soladite: It helps still fear, stress, and anxiety. It can also help contact a spirit guide.
Tektite: It lessens mental challenges, and enhances wisdom, knoweldge, and the abililty to deal with mental and emtional problems.

Tiger's Eye: It is found in many different color variations.
Gold/brown: It lessens weakness and unclear thinking, and helps enhance self empowerment. Its chakra association is Solar Plexus.
Red: It lessens anxiety, and enhances serene energy. Its chakra association is the connection betweent the Solar Plexus and Base.
Blue: It lessens depression, and enhances stregnth of conviction and verbal expressions. It's chakra association is the connection between the Solar Plexus and Throat.
Topaz: It is found in many different color variations.
Gold: It lessens slight depression, and enhances self confidence, creativity, and optimism. Its chakra association is the Solar Plexus.
Blue: It lessens nervousness, and enhances psychic abilities. Its chakra association is the Third Eye and Throat.
Pink: It lessens one's feelings of being unloved, and enhances honor and honest love. Its chakra association is the Heart.
White: It lessens impurities, and enhances spiritual stability and diversity. Its chakra association is Crown.
