Finding meaning through education, jobs, and posessions
Before I talk about the meaning of the pictures, I want to describe their purpose. The first picture is of a school and the science center because before becoming successful, an education is usually required. Next are some pictures of occupations that one might hold if they have successful careers. Last is a picture of this enormous house that if we're really lucky, we might get to own. Now, on to my reasons for putting this. For thousands of years, personal status has either been thrust upon us or gained. Either way, they make us who we are, and how everyone else perceives us. To some, the more stuff that they have, the better they look. They feel that their lives have some meaning if they've achieved something. It is the opinion of some that through material objects, you gain your place in the world. Others may think that it is petty how much money you have, or how much you own. Realistically, even if we aren't obsessed with material objects, they still allow us to live good lives. These things around us just help us be the people who we want to be.
