He meant for the kiss to be a comforting gesture. He just wanted to show her,
without words, that he believed in her and would help her come to terms with
what was happening. That was what he intended, at least. It didn't quite work
out that way. From the moment his lips touched hers, he was lost. Electricity
shot all through his body, stemming from his lips and traveling all the way
down to his toes. He moaned quietly against her lips and pulled her closer,
deepening the kiss, tangling one hand in her hair, and the other wrapping tightly,
possessively, against her small frame. His tongue traced her lips, begging for
entrance. Her lips parted with a soft sigh. Angel darted his tongue into her
mouth, wanting to taste every inch of her. Their tongues met and dueled for
what could have been seconds or hours, either way Willow pulled away far to
quickly for Angel's liking.
"Wha..what are we doing, Angel?" Willow asked, breathlessly.
"Kissing" Angel answered, as he leaned toward her again, already missing the
taste of her. Willow pulled back further.
"We can't! What about Buffy and Oz and chocolate? < Did I just say chocolate?
No! I know I couldn't have just said chocolate. I've been hanging around Spike
to long. >
< Chocolate? Um.... Okay. Why would she mention chocolate? Oh! It's probably
because she's talking about people she loves. I guess she just loves chocolate
too. >
Angel looked her straight in the eyes and said, "What about them?"
"But you love Buffy!"
"Willow, Buffy sent me to Hell, both physically and emotionally. The physically
I can understand and even forgive, but since I've come back all she's done is
play with my emotions, expecting me to turn my love on and off dependent on
her mood swings. I can't do that anymore. I don't want to do that anymore. But
that's not what this is about, is it? This is about you not wanting to kiss
a monster like me, isn't it?"
"NO!" Willow replied vehemently, and then she blushed profusely. "Um, I mean
no, that's not it. And you're not a monster! If anyone is a monster here, it's
me."
Angel let out a chuckle. "Willow, you couldn't be a monster even if you tried.
You just have to learn to control the darkness that you have been infected with.
But, deep down, where it really counts, I *know* the same sweet wonderful beautiful
soul of yours is unchanged."
Willow smiled up at him, "So we're both in the same boat, huh?"
He chuckled again. "Yup. You know, I never thought of it like that. Except that
you have never done anything really bad, whereas I have."
"That wasn't you Angel! Your soul wasn't even there, or else you would never
have done anything like that."
< Sweet, wonderful, caring, forgiving Willow. How did I ever survive the
past 80 years without you? >
Angel leaned forward again and recaptured her lips. The kiss was filled with
with hope and joy. He started to pull her close again, to deepen the kiss, to
lose himself in her arms.
"Well, isn't this a pretty picture?"
The end.

"While I'm still confused and uncertain, it's on a much higher plane, d'you
see, and at least I know I'm bewildered about the really fundamental and important
facts of the universe."
Treatle nodded. "I hadn't looked at it like that," he said, "But you're absolutely
right. He's really pushed back the boundaries of ignorance."
