It has been nearly a year since the Cel-Shaded version of Zelda has been shown. In the beginning, it was bashed by many gamers and Zelda lovers. Why did they change the design? Why did they make it look so childish? Why did they make it look gay? These were many of the first responses that we heard all around the world. To tell you the truth, I also bashed the new look of Zelda. I was angry, furious, that they even touched the way Zelda looked. I did e-mail Nintendo and I had many replies from Nintendo protecting the way it was. My argument was that the graphics made Zelda look kiddy, and wasn’t taking full advantage of the GameCube hardware.
Now, nearly a year later, there are still many people out there that still bash how it looks. I don’t bash it anymore because every time I see a video, or a picture of the new “Celda”, I notice the gameplay is going to be better than ever. And, the graphics fit the gameplay perfectly.
Another reason people bash the new Zelda is because of its plot. If you do not want to read it do not highlight below.
Now, he is saving his sister this time. And of course the big question came up "When did Link have a sister? ". It was a shock to some people and many people were happy with the plot being that he would save his sister. This game does take place before the original Legend of Zelda on NES. However, people of course must complain and complain about the littlest things.
Well, this is what I say to the people that complain about the plot. You didn’t create the series, you didn’t create the plot, you didn’t create sh*t. Mr. Miyamoto did. So stop b*tching and moaning about it. He has the power to do what he wishes with the series because he can.
Conclusion: In the beginning I was disappointed with what Nintendo did with Zelda, but I learned to accept it, and to enjoy it. I’m not the only one. The more clips people see of the new Zelda, the more excited people get about it. So, hopefully this could shed some light into the "non-beleivers" and help you accept the new Zelda.
