Kill.Switch Review

I have started to review games which I recently get. I hope these reviews are helpful for you so you can make a choice in what game to get. I rate games simply, which is split into 4 categories. Graphics, Sound, Gameplay and Fun factor.

Graphics

The graphics are superb in kill.switch, even though they aren't the best I've seen. However, the death animations are nicely done and the voice acting is also very well done. The levels are nice and big, which can sometimes pose a threat. But I'll wait for the Gameplay section to explain that.

Sound

The sound is actually very, very, very good. You can hear your enemies battle tactics; the guns and explosions also sound very good. The music, well, in some levels the music is really odd, but then you get used to it and actually start to like it.

Gameplay

This is where kill.switch excells beyond most shooters. Yes, it is pretty much a shoot 'em up action game, but you can die very easily. About 4 shots will do the trick. However, you can regain life after being hit. Also, the game requires you to use cover. The cover feature allows you to blindfire (you stick the gun out a shoot, not very accurate but handy in up close and personal fighting), cornerfire (you stick your head out and shoot), and hide behind just about anything. Also if you are right next to an enemy, you can just whack them with your gun.
The levels are also a very important factor in the gameplay. All of the levels are easy to navigate, and you have a very small chance to get lost. Even though the level may have large spaces, you only walk in certain spots. For example, a bridge or walkway in the air. This also allows for sneak attacks by the enemies.
Another important factor in shooters, well at least I think it is, is bullet speed. There have been games with bullets that go very slow. This game is an exception. The Bullets move fast, you can't even see them. Also the gun gives a recoil which adds into the realism of shooting.

Fun Factor

This game is a ton of fun. Just running around shooting people, taking cover, using grenades at the right time = a ton of fun. Some of the levels are difficult and you can find yourself playing them over and over again, but you'll be glad you decided to continue to play it. Also the controls are easy so you won't find yourself fumbling around looking for buttons.

Overall Score

I give kill.switch a solid 9.2 (out of 10). Lots of fun and its a must get for shooter fans. The gameplay is what seperates this game from other shooters (its a 3rd person shooter by the way). It is out for PlayStation 2 and X-Box.
