Time Crisis 3 Review

A pure action shooter finds its way to PlayStation 2.

Graphics

If you played Time Crisis 3 in an Arcade, nothing has changed. The graphics are exactly the same, which was what I expected. The graphics aren't horrible, they're quite good. Besides, its difficult to look at the graphics and detail because the game really doesn't allow you

Sound

No complaints about the sound. Its well done, even though the cutscene dialogue can sometimes be corny. The explosions sound nice, and the gun shots sound good too. The music fits the levels perfectly.

Gameplay

This is where Time Crisis 3 shines. Its a shooter like Virtua Cop 1 & 2. If you never played those games, all you do is shoot at the enemies on the screen. You can buy the GunCon 2 and then plug it in into your PS2. All you do is shoot at the enemies on the screen, it's as simple as that. Also, this game supports two players, which adds to the chaos. The utilizes a duck and cover feature, which means you are always hiding behind something. However, when you go to shoot, you have to press any button to "unhide" yourself. Thats when you can get shot, but when your hiding, your fine. But don't forget the time limit.

Fun Factor

Time Crisis 3 is a very fun game, a shoot 'em up action game. All you do is shoot, you don't move. With 3 levels and tons of unlockables, this game will keep you busy. However, the game is really difficult, and the amount of life that the game gives you is pathetic. If you continue to lose, the game will give you more lives, but it can be a pain.

Overall Score

Time Crisis 3 gets a score of 8.4 (out of 10). Its a fun game, but the difficulty really does hurt the score. Its the reason why you should go and buy the GunCon2.
