WHO WE ARE
107THNEWLOGO by Matthew A. Maringola
Graphic Artist. The stylized 27 in the center of the patch also forms the letters N.Y. in recognition of the unit's nickname, The New York Division. The seven stars are from the constellation Orion in honor of the 27th Division's commander John F. O'Ryan.

Like our counterparts from almost 90 years ago today's ROUGHNECKS are a
diverse lot united by a love of history and a dedication to Veterans of past wars.

Here's a quick look at some of our current members as of December 2008.

MIKE MUNFORD--Mike has been a reenactor for 25 years, having done World War II in addition to the Great War. He's been a ROUGHNECK for 11 years and is a private first class. Mike resides in Pennsylvania where he teaches in public school.
PETE BUGALA--Pete's been a ROUGHNECK for about 7 years and brings 25 years of experience under his belt as a World War II reenactor. He's a musician and works for the NYS DOT. Pete resides on Long Island.
PRIVATE ETHELBURT JELLYBACK--Private Jellyback is our oldest and longest serving ROUGHNECK, having joined the unit on November 27th, 1917 as a figment of Private Charles Devine's imagination. Although a noted intellectual with an impeccable 5th Avenue, high society lineage, he has remained a private for 90 years, which is undoubtedly a record. His ideas and observations on Army and camp life have been entertaining the ROUGHNECKS who know him for all those years. His best friend is Private Jim Mugrams with whom he often puts his ideas into practice. Although we haven't seen Private Jellyback in a few years we're sure he's still working out some ideas and will show up when he's darn good and ready. Old Soldiers are like that, you know.
BRADLEY HUBBARD--"Bradwood" has been a reenactor for 10 years and joined the ROUGHNECKS in January 2004. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hofstra University last year and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. He majored in German studies and the Classics. He speaks four languages and reads four others. He was also an Eagle Scout. He plays baseball with the Atlantic Baseball Club of Brooklyn, a "vintage" baseball team playing by late 19th century rules. He also teaches and organizes dances from the Roaring 20's to the Big Band era. Brad is pursuing a career in acting so remember the name. He resides Virginia.

He and his wife reside in New Jersey.
