(BISS AM/CAN Ch. Chikara's Chilly Willy x Ch. Ceili's Shanachie)
Fiacc (pronounced Fee ack)was an awesome dude. He was a sight to behold at 112 lean pounds!!! People who don't know the sweet people-loving nature of the Alaskan Malamute would always give us plenty of space wherever we went. Poor Fiacc probably thought no one liked him. :-(
I did not receive Fiacc until he was 8 mos. old. His breeder had to rescue him from his first family, who unfortunately, couldn't handle raising a large, hard-headed Malamute. After working with Fiacc, day in and day out, he learned to trust people again, was crate-trained, obedience-trained and one of my favorite Malamutes ever. I shutter to think what would have happened to him if he stayed with his previous owners.
Fiacc took very well to sledding and after some initial encouragement became an awesome weightpuller. Fiacc was always the one to watch at the weightpulls, but like a typical Mal he had days when he just didn't feel like doing it. All in all, he earned 4 Region 5 Medals in his short career, a couple of "Most Weight Pulled" titles and had three WWPDX legs before his untimely death in 2001 at only 7 1/2 years of age.
Fiacc still has a very special place in my heart that no other Malamute will ever be able to fill.
