I went to Salt Lake City for Thanksgiving this year to visit Chris. He had to work, so instead of missing him over the holiday weekend, I went to him! He's been in Salt Lake for about a year now, and he'll be home again soon, so I'm glad I got to check the place out before he left. Check this out.
This is a picture of the Mormon Temple in downtown Salt Lake City. The whole city really does revolve around religion, but they have htis beautiful temple in the middle of the city. Very pretty.
We went up to Park City (a sky resort) while I was there for a day. It's this really cute little town in the mountains that reminded me a lot of Lake Placid in the Adirondacks of New York. This is a shot of downtown.
The view of the mountains on the way back to Salt Lake from Park City.
If you go west out of Salt Lake City, you hit this really long road, then the great salt plains and the great salt desert, and then... NEVADA.
A picture of me in front of the great salt desert, just before we reached Nevada.
And for those of you who have never crossed the great salt desert, you have a gas station about once every 60 miles or so. Here was one of those lovely gas stations.
