Calendar For Any Month

Select-A-Month

T his unique calendar, constructed using a textarea*, enables you to look up the calendar for any month of any year! Use the drop-down menu to select the desired month. Quite exceptional.

*    For the definition of a "Textarea", follow the below link.
Define Textarea ]

W e have tested the code in IE5.5, IE6, Netscape4.08 and Netscape7.0. This script worked well in all platforms tested with no variations observed.

D epending on your knowledge of HTML and java scripts, this is an easy, three (3) part copy and paste code with "No" reconfigurations. Once you insert all three parts, thats it, you are ready to go.

T he first part goes in the <HEAD> section of your document. The second part goes directly into the <BODY> tag* and last goes into the <BODY> section itself where you want the textarea form to be seen.

*    If you do not know how to insert an "onload event handler" directly into the <BODY> tag, see the below example.

</head>
<body bgcolor="#000000" text="#ba55dc" link="#fff8dc" alink="#fff8dc" vlink="#fff8dc" BODY onLoad="setToday()">

O nce all three parts are done, you can relax, it is all done.

I f by chance you do not want the calendar on the page itself and would prefer it in a convenient little pop up window, below we will explain howto.

M ake a new HTML document and the only things you will have on the new document are:

  1. The Codes For The Calendar
  2. A Close Window button**
    Located at the bottom of the new document
  3. **     The button is to add a higher level of professionalism
    to the page the calendar is on.

<!--- Start Code For Close Window Button --->

<p><form>
<input type=button value="Close Window" onClick="javascript:top.window.close();">
</form></p>

<!--- End Code For Close Window Button --->

O nce you have built the new document, added the calendar and the close window button to it, that page is done for now. Finally you need to add a two part java script into the <HEAD> and <BODY> sections of the document (page) you want to have the calendar pop up from once you click on a link for the calendar. The <BODY> section of the code you can place anywhere you want the link to appear.
