Unlike just about every other drop down menu that opens in the Same Window and takes you away from the main page, this rare script allows you to "Launch New Browser Popup Windows" from a dropdown menu. Any number of links can be added to the options list. The popup window features* can be set within the script. Great for saving space on the page when long lists are required, for image popups, and for offsite referrals while still keeping people on your page.
We have tested the code in IE6.0, Firefox1.5, Opera8.51, Netscape7.02, Netscape8.0.4 and AOL Explorer1.2. This script worked well in all platforms with one variation observed in Netscape8.0.4.
Depending on your knowledge of HTML and javascripts, this is an easy one part copy and paste code that goes in the <BODY> section of your document. The script itself is highly documented where you can make some additions and add into the <HEAD> section and also directly into the <BODY> tag itself. All of the tutorials for this are covered in the above dropdown menu.
We also have another menu like this one with the variation that you can set the variable (target) to where you want the link to open. It can be the same window, a new window or even set to target a specific frame within a <frameset> page. If you would like to check that one out, grab the below link and you are there.
