I f you look at the two photographs you can see marked differences on the surface. Try and be critical and don't look at the enhancements but at the picture itself. The original or "Before" picture is blurry and the color is not that good. Forget about the fact that the original was almost 240K.
W e did for download time optimize the picture without enhancing the quality but got the size down to 5K. Now the inhanced and optimized "after" photograph has much better quality and the colors and image are crystal clear. Even with the enhancements and optimization the size now is only 24K.
I f you were to have these two pictures on your "Flip Flap effect, slide shows or whatever picture or pictures you are loading, more is not always better. In this case "less" is better. When a person comes to your site he or she wants it to open up as quickly as possible and not have to wait for images to load.
