Fixed Background Image

T he fixed background effect should be incorporated with a background image to optimize this effect on your page. To get this effect first you need to get yourself a background. The below link has some real cool & wild backgrounds you can download.
Background Images ]

We have tested the code in IE6.0, Firefox1.5.0.2, Opera8.54, Netscape8.1 and AOL Explorer1.2. The fixed background worked in IE and AOL Explorer1.2. All other platforms tested the background image will not be stationary. It degrades well and you will not get any error messages.

A fter you choose your background and save it to your computer we would suggest that you "Optimize" the image before you upload it to your editor because of its original size and time it will take to open your page. Before You optimize your image you should read the below link to explain image optimization.

Optimize Image ]

O nce you optimize your image and "save it again" now you can upload it to your editor. Once all this is done you want to add this code into your <BODY> tag.

BODY BACKGROUND="Path To Your Uploaded Background" bgproperties="fixed"

W ith the above little code, you can delete the properties of bgproperties="fixed" if you do not want the background stationary (fixed) and the image will scroll along with any any all content within your document.

I f you do not know how to add these attributes into your <BODY> tag, see the below example.

<body bgcolor="#000000" text="#ba55dc" link="#fff8dc" alink="#fff8dc" vlink="#fff8dc" topmargin="0" BODY BACKGROUND="Path To Your Uploaded Background" bgproperties="fixed">

For Your Information For your Information:     If you notice we also have the body bgcolor="#000000" defined for the color black. #000000 is the HEX code for "black". Reason being is that our background image is mostly black and the transition is much smoother with the bgcolor defined as close to the background image as possible.
