Help ImageTransfer Programs To Flash DriveUSB Flash Drive

T o save or transfer programs, pictures, etc. to a flash drive is quite simple. The process takes a few steps but is well work the little bit of time.

Step One: Insert your flash drive into a USB port on your computer.

Step Two: Wait until your system notifies you that is has located "New Hardware". This is done by a little popup window in the taskbar by the clock. Once you have transferred more than one type of program into your flash drive a large window will appear asking you "This disc or drive contains more than one type of content. What do you want windows to do?"

Step Three: We usually just "cancel" that screen because if you select a certain task, it will perform it every time. By cancelling, it gives you the option to do what you want each and every time.

Step Four: Now you need to locate the file or program you want to transfer to your flash drive.
Select the         menu then select "Search" then "For Files or Folders...".

Step Five: Once you selected "For Files or Folders..., then a window will appear. Select "All Files and Folders".

Step Six: That window will change where you can now input the file, program, etc. you are searching to transfer to your flash drive.

Step Seven: Once Info Is Filled In, Use Dropdown Arrow To Select "Hard Drives (C:;D:)" or whatever letters they are on your system. Now Click "Search" and wait while it locates your file(s).

Step Eight: Once the search is complete and it has located all the files associated with what you want to transfer, now "Right Click" the folder with all the program files. "Not" the shortcut icon etc. If you "Left Click on the below "Folder" example, it will open and you will see what we are explaining about holding all the files for the program you want to transfer. It should look something like the below:

Name
Name of file

In Folder
C:\Program Files

Size
File Folder

Date Modified
8/31/05 1:51 PM

Step Nine: Now select "Send to" then select your flash drive. Ours is"Removable Disc G".

Step Ten: Now it is transferring the program to your Flash Drive. It still leaves the original program on your system. "You won't lose it!", nor will it remove it from your system. It is just making a copy and sending the copy to your removable flash drive.

Step Eleven: Once the tranfer is complete, the window will close and you will have just the blank desktop.

Step Twelve: Now lets check if the program was transferred to your Flash Drive. Select "Start", then "Run".

Step Thirteen: Once you selected Run, Now select "Browse".

Step Fourteen: Now use the dropdown arrow to Find and Select your removable Flash Drive.

Step Fifteen: Now check to see where the program is that you just transferred.

Step Sixteen: Now Hi-light and "Left Click" on the program you want to open.

Step Seventeen: Now "Left Click" on the icon that you would normally open that program.

Step Eighteen: Now "Left Click" on "Open" to access your program from your flash drive. Whew!
Now on to safely "Removing" the Flash Drive.

Step Nineteen: Click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in your System tray (somewhere by the clock).

Step Twenty: Select the drive to remove.

Step Twenty-one: A message will appears to tell you that you can now
"Safely Remove your Flash Drive". Whew!

I f all of these steps seem confusing, our slideshow will clarify all the steps quite simply. The page you are about to open is Very Graphically Intense. We do have a preload script in place that hopefully has loaded all the images. If you do have a slow connection, they may take a little while to load.

W ith the development of nanotechnology ]*, things are getting smaller and smaller. This does not exclude hard drives such as the Flash or Key drive that can hang on a key chain.

For Your Information For your Information:     * "The nanoscale is about a thousand times smaller than micro that is, about 1/80,000 of the diameter of a human hair. Approximately 3 to 6 atoms can fit inside of a nanometer, depending on the atom. The prefix nano means ten to the minus ninth power, or one billionth. Nanoscale technologies are the development and use of devices that have a size of only a few nanometres. Nanotechnologists manipulate single molecules and atoms....."
