Morsecode Encoder/Decoder Encryption ~ Tested in IE6.0, Netscape7.02, Netscape8.0.4, Opera8.51, Firefox1.0.7 and AOL Explorer1.2

Usage: Enter the text or morsecode into the corresponding (upper) box.
The correct translation should appear in real time in the box above. If not, click the "Transform" button.

ATTENTION: Spaces between the words in morsecode are symbolized with " & ".
The letters in morsecode are separated with normal spaces.

W hen you use this encoder, you need to remember that it will not transpose numbers, just letters. In other words, if you put any numbers in, when you decode it, the numbers will not transpose and you will get a blank space where the number(s) should be. The work around is quite simple. Just substitute words for numbers. See the below example.

For the number "10" use the word "ten"
For the number "100" use the words "one hundred"
For the number "1000" use the words "one thousand"

T his tool was developed just 4 fun. Although you could also use it to encrypt small texts. If you do so, remember that morsecode is an international standard and that makes this encryption method not really secure.

W e have tested the code in IE6.0, Firefox1.0.7, Opera8.51, Netscape7.02, Netscape8.0.4 and AOL Explorer1.2. This script worked well in all platforms with no variations observed.

D epending on your knowledge of HTML and javascripts, this is an easy two part* copy and paste code that goes in both the <HEAD> and <BODY>(wherever you want it to appear) sections of your document with no reconfigurations. Just copy/cut and paste and you are done.

* On the site where you get the code, it is done as a complete HTML document. Just go through it, and remove the unnecessary parts of the document you do not require and only use the code itself if you need.

Note of Importance ~ On the site where you get the copy and paste code, their code is not correct. We have notified them as of 11/06/02. As of 07/17/06 they still have "Not" rectified the incorrect code. You can get a good copy of the code below.
