Today is . Page created 10/18/02, updated 05/21/06

T his script is bound to get your visitor's attention no matter where you place this one part copy and paste script. Just look at the top heading on this page to see the effect.

W e have tested the code in IE5.5, IE6, Netscape4.08, Netscape7.0, Netscape8.1, Firefox1.5.0.3, Opera8.54 and AOL Explorer1.2. This script worked well in all platforms with the exception of Netscape4.08, Netscape7.0, Netscape8.1 and Firefox1.5.0.3 where the following variations were observed.

1)   You will see the text you set within the script but it will be in the color that is set in your <BODY> tag, not the script.
1a)   Our default text set within the <BODY> tag is #ba55dc. This is the color you will see this effect in when viewing with all platforms of Netscape and Firefox1.5.0.3.
2)   The scrolling effect will not be seen.
3)   Script degrades well and you will not get any error messages.

D epending on your knowledge of HTML and java scripts this is really quite an easy effect to add to your page. As we said earlier, this is a one step copy and paste code that is inserted into the <BODY> section of your document where you want it to appear. All parts of the effect can be reconfigured to fit your page, yet the reconfigurations are quite easy to do and should not take you more that a few minutes.

Default

var message="Welcome to Website Abstraction!"
var neonbasecolor="gray"
var neontextcolor="yellow"
var flashspeed=100 //in milliseconds

///No need to edit below this line/////

T he above are the default settings that come with the code. Everything you see in the code in "Orange" (the color of this text) can be reconfigured. Below are our reconfigurations so you can get an idea.

Reconfigurations

var message="Neon Scrolling Text Effect"
var neonbasecolor="black"
var neontextcolor="hotpink"
var flashspeed=100  //in milliseconds

///No need to edit below this line/////

T here is one more reconfiguration you can do and that is to change the size of the font. At the very top and very bottom of the code you will see:

<h2> (Top)
</h2> (Bottom)

T he larger the number the larger the size of the text. Below you can see our reconfiguration on this part of the code.

<h1> (Top)
</h1> (Bottom)

W e hope our tutorial was easy to follow and we covered everything in detail. If you would like to add this effect into your pages, grab the respective below link and you are there.
