B efore we explain password protection be advised that if you are with Geocities they forbid password protected pages. If they find out you have one they will cancel your account.
A ctually this is quite easy to do depending on how much encryption you want on a "password protected" page. It also depends on how extensive your knowledge of HTML and java scripts are.

he link below will take you to a page where there are many java codes for password protection. This is all personal preference on what you are looking for with the protection. Some of these codes are better than others. For "copy & paste" for free they are quite good. You just need to see which one suits your needs.

e personally use the password protection services of Bravenet Free Webmaster Tools. Their password protected pages work from their server and off framesets that if you view the source code, you see absolutely nothing. The URL in the address bar is also served from their server so that does not even give you a clue on what page you are accessing.
