This song was written after a trip to Crystal Beach in 1997.
It will be available on cassette in the Spring of 2002.
CRYSTAL BEACH
The calm waves kissed your crystal sands
and dancers cut the rug.
Canadiana bellowed as she sailed...
I can hear the music floating
softly through the air.
I see the ballroom lights from on the rail...
Oh, I could laugh in the dark
or stroll the midway at noon.
10,000 children in the park,
staying up later than the moon.
The Cyclone spins, the sun it grins,
a lollipop in hand - so much to do,
I hope I stay awake...
I can hear the laughter in the wind -
expressions of delight.
The Comet thunders hard beside the lake...
Oh, I could laugh in the dark
or stroll the midway at noon.
10,000 children in the park,
staying up later than the moon.
Let me live inside your magic palace
with a carpet ride
to take me on a journey back in time...
To see your warm sun smile again
just once, and let you know
that you still live on within my mind
Oh, I could laugh in the dark.
I drove through Ridgeway at noon.
There's no more children in the park.
The sun has gone away too soon...
The smiling sun has gone away too soon...
