Keys to Ascension

October 29, 1996

They are, demonstrably, the quintessential Yes lineup.  They are "Classic" Yes, who earned the devotion of legions of fans in the seventies by transforming the group's astonishingly intricate studio compositions into dynamic live perforamnces.  Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Rick Wakeman, and Alan White bring out the best in one another.  When the band's close knit fan base learned that Classic Yes was going to be laying down a live album in San Luis Obispo, California, every one knew exactly what to expect.  This would be the Yes event of the decade.  The concerts marked the beginning of a new era for the band, as timelss classics came to life once again, reminding everyone present why this band is so special.  The quintet soared as high as ever; their individual proficiency merging to create an unparalleled energy.  At its best, Yes music has the ability to reach deep inside you and lift your spirit in ways you'd never imagine. For three nights in March 1996, unabetted by lasers or fog machines, it was the pure music of Yes that carried us to new heights.  Carrying forth a tradition that is a trademark of the band, they are not standing still. Yes' new music is unmistakable, as they continue to blaze new paths and re-define rock music.  This collection is more than just a document of a very special event.  These discs are your ticket to ride - your ticket to fly to places only Yes music can take you.  They are your Keys to Ascension.
