Mountain Dew Day - Dew Day turned out great. A new high was reached in McVey Park attendance. The field looked better than ever with brand new furnishings, fresh cut lawn, trimmer, brighter, and in all newer than ever. The game was incredible. DJ Danny H was on the music keeping the crowd entertained. The game may have been the best played this year. Scheduled for seven innnings, this duel went to the last turn at bat in 9 innings before it ended. John, Sganga, Oldis, and Bobby Morrell took the field first as the home team against Ken, Pat (PJ), Hindy, and O-Dogg. John McVey pitched the game of his life. Yes ladies and gentlemen, this first no-hitter of the year was thrown on Tuesday the 21st of August. John did it in tremendous fashion striking out 17 and going the whole 9 innnings. The same can be said for Ken as well, he only allowed one hit by Sganga and struck out 9. O-Dogg came in relief in the 8th and on to the 9th, dramatically, with two on and one out, John homered over the left field house. The team mobbed him and the crowd cheered loudly. McVey has truly lived up to his abilities and we hope he can continue these stellar performances.
