Just Not Sure - Chapter 13

Erica’s mom ran into Deidra’s apartment. "ERICA ANN!! YOU LIED TO ME I CAN’T BELIEVE IT! I CAN’T EVEN TRUST MY OWN DAUGHTER!" Her mom looked Furious. Erica put her head down. "I’m sorry... I didn’t know it would turn out like this." She started to cry. Frankie hugged her tightly. Chris look dumbfounded. "Where was I when all of this happened?" He asked everyone. "Making out with the city tramp." Deidra snapped back, glaring at Heather. Heather gave Deidra the middle finger. Erica’s mom grabbed Erica’s arm. "Say goodbye to all your friends, this will probably be the last time you see half of them." And with that Erica’s mom walked out of the apartment. "I’ll be waiting in the cab." Erica looked at all of them. The people that were with her since the beginning of everything. She walked over to Frankie and bursted out crying. "I don’t want to say goodbye again Frankie, I already did it once." She wept. He held her tightly. "Shhhh.. It’s ok, your gonna see us again, I’ll make sure of it. You can’t escape us that easily." Deidra went over to Erica. "Yea, like Enrique Iglesias said, ‘You can run, you can hide, but you can’t escape my love.’ " She joked. Everyone let out a weak laugh. Erica would miss this. Deidra always cracking jokes, Maria always giving advice, Greg always bringing a smile to everyone’s face." She wiped the tears from her eyes. Maria walked over and gave Erica a hug. "We found a way to get you once... and we can do it again." She re-assured her. "Thank you for everything Maria." Erica tried to say, holding back the tears. Chris walked over by Maria. "Can I talk to her for a minute?" Maria nodded and let go from the hug. Erica and Chris walked outside. He turned to Erica and smiled. "How can you smile at a time like this?!" She asked Chris. Chris sat down and pulled Erica with him. "Um... ok I’m not good at this so bare with me." He warned her. She looked up at him with her tearful eyes. "What you told me.... ya know... the night we were at the pizza place... I never forgot about..... no one’s ever told me that before.... and ..... I know I suck at showing that I care but I never thought you were just there..... and I’ll never forget about you." He smiled again, a innocent smile. Erica bursted out in tears again. The one thing she wanted most came to her at the worst time. Chris hugged her. "And, we’ll be in upstate NY, just come see us there, this may be goodbye but it’s not forever." She smiled at Chris and got back up. They walked into the room where everyone was sitting. Maria was crying and Jesse had his arm around her. Deidra looked a mixture between upset and sad. Greg was trying to talk to her, Lindsey and Matt were talking. Frankie looked up. "Hey.." He said, handing her, her coat. She gave him a weak smile. Lindsey got up and went to Erica. "Atleast you’ll have me? I mean... we can go through it together...." She tried to cheer Erica up. "AHH THIS FREAKEN SUCKS!!" Deidra screamed. There were a few chuckles here and there. She got up and hugged Erica and Lindsey. They all said there final goodbyes and Lindsey went into the taxi. Erica walked out the door. "Erica?" She heard Frankie say. She turned around. "Yea Frankie?" Frankie looked down at the ground then back upto her. He went to her and hugged her. "I’ll miss you, you know my cell phone number, call me when you can." She smiled and kissed him on the cheek. "I know Frankie, and Thanks.....for...everything." He smiled back at her and watched as she got into the taxi. Erica put her seat belt on and watched as the image of her 7 best friends faded away. ‘It never seemed like it would come out like this.’ She thought. ‘But then again..... everything’s not what it seems.’
