Just Not Sure - Chapter 7 - Unexpected

A few days later things continued to be alright and Heather left Erica alone most the time. "GOD! i though NYC was supposed to be exciting!" Erica complained as she plopped down next to Kristy and Maria in the park. "It IS! At night anyway..." Kristy tried to assure her. "Hey wait! r u guys comin to kevins party?" She asked. "Wait the one tonight at 8?" Maria asked back. "Yea, it should be really fun too." Kristy added. "Hell yea i woudnt miss it for the world!" Maria said excitingly. She turned to Erica. "Sooooo you gonna go too?" Erica shrugged her shoulders. "Um.... i dont know, how long is the party?" Kristy had a puzzled look on her face. "Uh...good question, knowing Kevin it’ll probably go on all night. But who cares! The guys will be there..." Erica sat up. "You mean the guys as in Chris,Frankie, Greg, Jesse and Matt!?" A slight smile crossed both Maria’s and Kristy’s faces. "Thats right.." Erica had to go now...but wait would Heather be there? "Is Heather going too?" Erica asked. "No i dont think so, Kevin kinda hates her." Maria told Erica. "Alright.....I guess I’ll go...." "I’ll come get u guys at 7:30 ok?!" Kristy exclaimed. Before the girls could respond Kristy ran out of the park.

_______________7:00pm_______________ "OMG! What am I going to wear Maria!?" Erica yelled as she looked at the pile of clothes gathering on the bed. Maria looked threw the clothes and pulled out a shimmery silver tank top. "What about this?" She asked, turning to Erica and holding up the tank top. "Maria...." Erica started to say with a little laughter. "It’s the middle of Winter..." Maria laughed. "Well! it’s gonna be hot in his apartment! Plus, thats what coats are for!" Since that was the only Erica could agree on wearing she decided she would wear that. She put her gray sweater over it and wore glittery flares with it. She made Maria wear a tank top too, Erica didnt want to be the only one at the part with a tank top on. So Maria wore her gold tank top that had sparkles on it and black pants. Erica wore her hair down and Maria put it half up. By the time the girls were done it was already 7:30 so they went out and waited for Kristy. Just as expected, when they walked out Kristy was already half way into the parking lot. She wore a black t-shirt that said "Player" on it and flare jeans. Her blonde hair was down and the end were flipped up. "Wow, lookin’ good girls!" she yelled as she continued walking. The girls returned the compliment and they were on their way. The music blasted so loudly it could be heard 2 blocks down. "Wow, i’m gettin a headache already and we’re only like, what? 2 blocks away?" Kristy joked. The other girls laughed but agreed. They walked into the party just as "Caramel" by City High came on. "Hey girls!" Kevin yelled through the blasting music. "Damn! Could the music get any louder!?" Erica shouted back. "Ha ha, actually it could but we dont want the neighbors complaining." Kevin returned. The girls joined the dance floor. The house would of been pitch black but multiple colored lights scattered around the house. Erica sort of danced, but kept looking now and then for the guys. Finally Maria spotted Jesse "yay!! They’re here!" She yelled to the girls. They walked over to Jesse, Frankie, Chris and Greg. "Where’s Matt?" Erica asked Greg. "Oh he went to go use the phone." Erica nodded and then turned towards the stereo. The guys hung up their coats and went tot he dance floor. Erica went to go find Deidra, she knew she would be there. She walked passed Kristy and Kevin grinding and Jesse and Maria laughing at Chris trying to do an impression of Britney Spears in the "Oops I did It again" video, She laughed lightly to herself. Frankie was over by the refreshment table talking to Deidra, Erica decided to go over since she found Deidra. "Hey girl!!! U came!" Deidra shouted excitingly. "Yea, Kristy and Maria talked me into it." Erica responded. She turned to Frankie. "Hey Frankie" Frankie looked back at her and smiled. "What’s up?" The three continued talking when the DJ cut the music off. "Alright guys grab ur ladies because a slow song is comin up!" Deidra went to find Greg and Kristy and Maria were already with Jesse and Kevin. Erica walked away to go find Chris. She searched desperatley. Finally she found him. "CHR-" Erica stopped. She watched as Chris grabbed a girl and asked her to dance. Erica looked at the ground. Then she felt a tap on her shoulder. "Wanna dance?" She turned and saw Frankie with his hand out. "Um..ur not mad at me?" Erica asked. Frankie pulled her in and they danced. "Why would I be mad at you?" Erica looked away and then back at Frankie. "Well, I mean, the kiss....and.... like, we didnt talk...... it was weird..." "Yea, it was weird. But, it happened awhile ago and I just want to forget about it. You like Chris, I know that, but that doesnt mean we cant be friends does it?" A smile crossed Erica’s face. "Your right." After the song they went to go get drinks. Maria grabbed Erica. "Hey, I saw Chris.... sorry." Erica laughed lightly. "Sorry for what? All I wanna do is be his friend. I dont care if he dates other girls. I mean, I’m not saying seein him grab the other girl and practically beg her to dance with him didn’t bother me. But, as long as he’s happy, that’s all i want him to be. Happy." Maria smiled at Erica. "Your too nice for ur own good." Erica laughed. "Thanks...I guess?" Just then Jesse walked over to them. "Hey, you do know the only drinks they’re servin here are with alcohol right?" He informed them. "Er.....dont they have, stuff in the kitchen?" Erica asked. "I dont know, you can check." Erica went into the kitchen with Maria and grabbed some water. Then Deidra walked in. "Ugh, this beer taste like shit." She said as she threw the plastic half filled cup into the garbage. "Yea, I bet it does, wants some water?" Maria asked, taking a gallon of water out of the refrigerator. "No thanks, i’m good, I’m gonna go find Greg, if you guys see him tell him I’m looking for him, see ya." The girls said bye and continued pouring their water. It was already 12am when they decided to go back on the dance floor. "Hey Erica!!!!" Erica turned around to see Chris. "They’re gonna be playin Party Up...ya kno, that DMX song? Well, I was wondering, wanna come dance?" He asked. "uh..sure." Erica placed her drink on a counter top and followed Chris into the dance room. They started to dance next to Jesse and Maria. Maria leaned over to Erica and whispered in her ear. "wooo, looks like you got your dance." Maria joked. Erica gave Maria a little shove and smiled. A few songs later Erica went back to her drink. She saw Kristy by the counter her drink was on. Erica looked at the 20 cups of water sittin on the counter. "um... I think this one’s mine." Kristy, half drunk already, disagreed with Erica. "No, i saw you place your cup right next to my beer cup. Right here." She pointed to a water cup. "Oh yea, maybe your right....... I’ll just get a new cup though." Erica went to go walk into the kitchen. "No, there’s no more water. Whats wrong? would i lie to u?" Just as Erica turned back around to look at the kitchen Kristy slipped a pill into, what erica thought, was her cup. "No, I believe you... I just... never mind, I’ll just take the cup. After drinking the water Erica felt a little dizzy. She found a chair and sat down. Frankie came over to her. "Hey, you don’t look so good, are you ok?" He asked, taking a seat next to her. "Yea, i’m ok, I’m just a little.........dizzy" Erica replied. "Are you sure? Do you want me to take you home or something? We could have matt driv-" "FRANKIE..... I’M FINE..." Erica cut off frankie. Frankie sighed. "If you say so." Frankie walked away, a look of concern still on his face. Around 3am Erica was starting to feel so dizzy she could barely stand up. Greg walked passed her with Deidra but stopped. "Erica???!!" Erica heard his muffled voice, her vision was starting to get blurry. "Are you-" was all Erica heard. She blacked out.
