Jesse lighly knocked and then opened the door with a slight squeak. The room was overlayed with clothing of all sorts as the guys stood mid-clothed oblivious as to who was behind them. "Guys," Jesse called, "We have visitors."
Matt gave a little shreak as the other guys stood there proudly.
"Nice undies, Matt," Bridget commented on Matt's blue boxers with white snowflakes enscribed in them. He pulled up his pants and blushed.
"Oh my god," Sasha gasped, "Greg, what happened to all that baby fat?!"
"It wasn't fat!" Greg protested as he checked himself over. "It was chub."
"Well," Ti started with a snicker, "This is a side of you guys girls haven't seen before."
"Feel privaledge, Baby," Chris told them with a sense of dignity as he walked over and gave them each hugs.
"Speaking of feeling privaledged," Bridget started as she dug into her black backpack and pulled out a white box. "Ti and I slaved over a hot stove to make these for you." She took of the lid to reveal a mound of cookies.
"What are they?" Frankie asked as he scrutinized them.
"Cookies, genius," Greg commented.
"We call them 'Sugar & Spice' cookies. They're made of sugar and cinnamon," Ti informed them matter-of-factly as everyone took one.
"Nothing like lovin' from the oven," Chris stated with a flirty smile.
"I'm starving," Matt whined as he took a handful more.
"Guys," a voice chimed in as a woman enter. "I hope you're decent..." She looked at the situation and smiled. "I'm sorry...this is just a little weird...guys...topless...girls...eating...cookies?"
"They're very good," Jesse commented with a crumbly mouth as he offered Claudia one.
"Claud," Frankie interrputed, stepping foward as he put on his blue and silver shirt, "This is Bridget, Sasha and Tiyanna. Girls, this is Claudia, our choreographer."
"Nice to mee you girls. Oh, They smell nice," Claudia commented, "but you guys got to do soundcheck now. You girls can watch from the sides." With that, they all toppled out of the dressing room.
Ti, Bridget and Sasha took a seat on folding chairs to the side of the stage as the guys reved up the crowd wita snippet of 'I Say Yeah.' The fans were going crazy as flashes of lights blinded the girls and brightened the spirits of the backstage crew. This is what is was about; the music.
"You guys looked great," Sasha commented as they nonchalanety walked offstage.
"What did you think, Bridge?" Chris asked as he took a swig of water and sat abruptly between Tiyanna and Bridget.
"I say yeah," Bridget giggled, "you guys were hott."
"Yeah, I caught the Chris fever," Tiyanna sighed as she leaned her onto Chris's shoulder fanning herself with her free hand.
"I've never seen anyone who's more flirty than Chris," Matt told Ti.
"I am not flirty," Chris objected. "I just give the girls what they want. I'm just their eye candy."
"Oh, please," Sasha laughed, holding her stomach. "Don't be so self-involved."
"We look for more in a guy than what he looks like," Ti continued.
"But what about my boyish good looks?" Jesse asked as he continued to scarf down cookies.
"And my muscles," Greg continued as he flexed.
"We like guys who will listen; who have a good personality, and a precious heart," Bridget informed them as she glanced to her right at Frankie.
"You're looking for a girly-guy," Greg told her with a wave away. Suddenly, Greg felt someone pushing on the door he was squatted against. He stood up and Louie bursted through the door, panting as if he just ran a marathon.
"Guys..show...starts....in...3 minuetes..." Louie panted as he look toward the girls. "And who are these girls?
"Bridget, Sasha and Tiyanna," Frankie told him.
"Nice to meet you girls but we gotta run, guys." The guys said their goodbyes and Frankie brought Bridget to the side.
"Meet me back here after the concert," he whispered into her ear. His breath made her go weak in the knees. "By the couch."
"OK," Bridget replied as Frankie was hurried along by Jesse.
The girls went into the audience as Louie introduced Dream Street. They started off with an electrifying version of "Let's Get Funky Tonight." The girls exploded with signs, yelling and screams as their favorite guy came into arm's lenght. Bridge, Ti and Sash all realized how much the guys mean to these adoring fans. Posters, hands and screams were launched into the air doused with music. You could barely see the guys because of the sea of arms that swayed to the beat. The concert was a blast, even though Chris was almost pulled off-stage.
"Why aren't guys this talented at our school?" Ti asked as they rejoiced with the other fans when Dream Street finished.
"Hey," Sasha protested as they headed toward the backstage area. "Screaming 1, 2, 3, HUT is a very fine attribute."
"Any idiot can do that," Bridget told her as the security guard lead them backstage.
"Ti, Sasha, come with us," Greg called for them as he motioned into a small room; probably make up.
"Let's us know how it goes," Sasha told Bridget as she walked toward Greg.
"And behave yourself. We'll be watching," Ti joked as she gave Bridget a hug and skipped toward the ajared door.
Bridget sat down on the brown leather couch. She nervously clasped her hand together as she lifted her head at every sound. Frankie came strolling from her right with a small box wrapped with care in his left hand. "Hey," Bridget greeted him.
"Hi," he replied with a toothy smiled. He sat to the right of Bridget and turned toward her. "Well...I know you've been through a lot. From what I know, you didn't deserve that. You are an amazing person. I've never met someone so strong or determined. I just wanted to give you something that will remain close to your heart when I'm not." He handed her the box with a shaky hand. She smiled at the gestured, tilted her head up and started to unwrap the glittery paper. She opened the black box to reveal a necklace that left her mouth agaped.
It was a tiny glass tear drop that was clear and faded into blue at the bottom. Still in awe, Frankie told her, "This is the last tear you should shed."
"There goes that thought," Bridget joked as drops of joy started to flow from her eyes. She took gasps of air as she wiped the saltiness from her face. "I...," she started with a giggle. Bridget looked into Frankie's pleading eyes and continued, "You're too much. I wish I could say I can't accept it, but this is too far an belevolent gesture."
"There you go with the big words," Frankie joked as he slapped his hands on his thighs.
"Come here," Bridget whispered as she took him in his arms. He accepted and held her close like a child holds a beloved teddy bear. They were in their own world. They could hear no voices, no creaks of the disheveled door, not a word. Bridget didn't know what she was doing. Was she crying because she's thankful, happy or because she's breaking down her guard and letting another guy into her life? Bridget continued to weep silent tears as Frankie tightened his grasp. Frankie longed for them to be like this always. They weren't conserned with fear, sadness, hate. The only thing keeping them apart is trust. No words could express the deep and longing feelings, maybe even love, these two have for each other. They just have to be patient because love always finds a way.
