To atheists, agnostics, and humanists
Below are some of the better websites that provide news of interest to atheists, agnostics, and humanists, including hostile actions by the Christian religious right wing. Most of these sites are also associated with atheist or humanist organizations.
- Secular Web (formerly Internet Infidels). See especially their Newswire. (They've also got lots of good counter-apologetics.)
- American Atheists. See especially Flash Line and legal update.
- Freedom From Religion Foundation. See especially Freethought Today magazine, News, and Action Alerts.
- Council for Secular Humanism. See especially Free Inquiry magazine and Online library.
- African Americans For Humanism. See eapecially AAH Examiner.
- American Humanist Association. See especially Press room.
- British Humanist Association
- Humanist Society of Gainesville. See especically Legislation of interest to humanists.
- Secular Coalition for America
- Campus Freethought Alliance
- Atheism Central for Secondary Schools (U.K.)
Most of these organizations have local chapters and affiliates. If you happen to be an atheist living in the Bible Belt, there's probably a chapter of at least one of the above groups somewhere near you.
The above organizations are all based in either the U.S.A. or the U.K. If anyone knows of any groups elsewhere, please let me know. Below is an interesting website which talks about humanism in the Third World, but doesn't list actual organizations or provide news:
