Satan as the Muse of our civilization
Below are articles stating my own personal beliefs about Satan."Muse of our civilization" is a line in my Invocation to Satan. My particular form of Satanism centers around this concept but is by no means limited to it. I do see Satan as having lots of other attributes too, some of which are mentioned in my invocation.

When developing our own understanding of who and what Satan is, we should not accept Christian beliefs uncritically. But we certainly should not ignore what Christianity has to say about Satan, either. So, let's examine what Christianity says.

(Note: This article claims that the "teaching Devil" idea is derived only from African polytheism and is not part of the traditional European idea of the Devil. In fact, it's found in European lore too, e.g. in the Goetia (see About Demons) and in some of the most ancient Devil lore, The Book of Enoch.)
