Today is Tuesday, my day off, remember? Natalie complained into her cell phone as
she sat in the backyard, the sunnyday warm enough to make her hair cling to her neck.
I need a break, Tyler. Im tired from the last four months in Peru, Im not signing
anything yet, Her eyes fell on Nick coming out to the back porch/patio and glancing at
her. He looked away and started fiddling with the barbeque and she listened
impatiently to what Tyler, her agent, was saying.
I get the week off?...Ok, thanks, Tyler, I got another call- The door opened again and
this time, AJ joined Nick out on the patio. She hung up and AJ looked over before
waving.
Hey, Natalie! He called and she smiled before returning his wave.
Care to join us for a dip in the pool? He asked and once again, she wondered where
he got his self confidence from.
No, thanks. I got a lot to do, He nodded and she walked back inside. Her mood that
was just beginning to turn up sank even lower when she walked into the living room
and saw her sister seated on the plush sofa.
Natalie, hi, She greeted, her voice sounding slightly artificial, forced.
Evelynne, what are you doing here? She asked but felt guilty when she saw the hurt
look on her sisters face.
Back from Peru?
Yes. Finally, I get a break, She said lightly, breaking the tense air.
Thats good. Do you want to join me and Marcus for lunch?
Um. Actually, I have a lot to do today. Maybe some other time.
...Yes. Some other time, Evelynne stood up and smiled, forcing it to stay on her face.
Well, I should get going...
Ill call you, Natalie promised.
Dont cancel any appointments for me, Nat stared at her and her sisters smile was
quickly replaced on her face.
Nevermind I said that. Ill talk to you soon,
Bye, Evvie, Her sister walked out and Natalie sighed before going to her bedroom to
get ready to go shopping and run the rest of the errands planned for the day...

Natalie rolled over angrily, trying to block the loud music coming from next
door. Sighing, she opened her eyes to look at the digital alarm. 3:45. Getting out of
bed, she pulled on her robe and walked to her balcony. The backyard was crowded with
people and they were all being extremly loud. She wondered why none of the other
neighbors were complaining yet. She shut the glass door which she had made the
mistake of leaving it open for fresh air. It blocked out some of the sound and she
walked to her stereo and turned on some soothing music. Crawling back in bed, she
made up her mind to have a talk with her new neighbors the next day...
