Chapter Twenty-Six

AJ opened the door when she rang the bell and greeted him with a half smile.
“ Uh-oh. What happened?” He asked, pulling the door open all the way and she
stepped inside.
“ Nothing. My brother left.”
“ Awww, I’m sorry.” He murmered sympathetically, giving her a one-armed hug.
“ I was just about to fix some coffee, you want?”
“ Sure. Thanks.” She followed him into the kitchen and took a seat on one of the
stools by the island.
“ So where is the Infamous Frowning Blonde?” She inquired, noticing the stillness of
the house.
“ He is downstairs, actually, watching Memento. I swear, he’s seen that movie so
many times, I’m suspicious. He’s probably in love with Guy Pierce’s chest
too.”(*hehehe*) AJ chuckled, turning to pour the coffee into two mugs.

*****The Following Night*****

The night and it’s lonliness had found her with Jeff and as they sat, through dinner, through another viewing of ‘Conspiracy Theory,’ she could sense their slight awkwardness with one another. I never did like him...” “ I remember.” “...Why did you ever date him in the first place anyways?” “ Because he was cuter than you,” She laughed at the face he made. “ It’s gorgeous tonight.” She commented as a breeze passed by and looked over at him when he was quiet. “ What’s wrong?” She asked, studying his tanned face. “ Ah, nothing,” He shrugged and smiled. “ Why did you bring Aidan up?” “ Just curious. Besides, I saw him at the mall the other night and I he kinda stuck in my mind.” “ I hate him.” “ Me too.” He agreed, following her gaze up. “ I do believe we’ve ran out of things to talk about tonight,” He finally said a few minutes later. “ Wanna watch another movie?” She offered, looking at him with hopeful eyes. “ Only if you want me to stay?” She grinned and got up, leading the way into the house...
