*Eyes In The Night* Prologue

The sun was just beginning to set when he got home. He couldn’t have been happier to be home. This previous tour had been incredibly tiring because of the new choreagraphy and longer setlist. Breathing in the air of his house, he half expected to see June walking downstairs, a big smile on her face but he sighed, remembering they weren’t together anymore. He set down his bag and felt the emptiness of the large house wash over him. This was the first time he had been really ALONE since the beginning of tour and instead of greeting it with open arms, he suddenly felt lonely. He let the door shut and fixed the locks, not wanting to set the alarms just yet. He looked around and kicked off his shoes before taking off his light long sleeved shirt so he was down to his teeshirt. He tossed it over one of the couches and cut through the living room and got to the glass patio doors leading to the private beach behind his house. He inhaled the scent of the waves and walked off the patio and stood, watching the waves for a few minutes, already relaxed before stepping back inside, deciding to take a nap. Nick took the stairs up to his room and crawled under the covers, falling asleep just before Mrs. Hannigan picked up her phone, just a few miles away, and dialed his number. She sighed frustratedly when she got no answer. She walked into the living room to where her husband was seated and shook her head.
“ He must not be back yet,” She murmered, sitting on one of the easy chairs.
“ What are we going to do with her?” Mike Hannigan asked, not really expecting a reply from his wife. The notes of a violin drifted downstairs, coming from April’s room.
“ Did you have a talk with her?” Mike asked and Beth looked at him sternly.
“ She’s your daughter too, Mike.” He sighed calmly.
“ I know honey, it’s just that I don’t think she’d listen to me,”
“Maybe it’s nothing,” Beth continued in a worried tone as the music stopped before starting the same chords again.
“ Well, try again in a couple of hours,” He said before turning back to his book...
