~ALWAYS
REMEMBERING CHUCKIE~
By:
Mari Beyer
I prayed for
your healing,
Asking my
God, who is able
To perform
a miracle,
To heal your
disease,
To break the
chains of addiction.
God heard
a mother's cry,
He answered
on July 24th, 2005.
But not how
I wanted
Never how
I expected.
I hate how
He answered.
He healed
you, at our expense
You were made
clean and happy,
Our hearts
broken.
Your life
made whole,
Our lives
shattered.
As you rejoice
in Heaven,
We weep and
mourn our loss.
I will endure
my pain for you, my son
For pain is
not new.
Pain when
I bore you,
Pain dealing
with your addiction
Pain, no agony,
in losing you.
I wish I could
have died in your place.
23 years is
too short a time.
Now we must
endure till that time,
Looking forward
to our own eternity
When we see
you face to face
Hearing again
those words, "I love you Mom."
Until then,
my sweet beloved Chuckie,
We are always
remembering you.
