~AMERICA
CRIED TODAY~
From the Great
Lakes of Michigan
To the shores
of Boston Bay
Our freedom
stands for American's
Who cried
this September day
From the Red
woods of California
To the Smokey
Mountains of Tennessee
American's
cried for New York City
What we saw
seemed a dream
From the great
Naval Base in San Diego
To the one
on Virginia's Shores
Our military
men were ready
Some
wanted to go to war
From the oil
fields in Texas
To the Oklahoma
plains
America cried
out in shock
As they watched
two airplanes
From the cotton
fields of Dixie
To the
shores of Mobile Bay
The "Alabama"
stands proudly
For what she
gave in her day
From shore
to shore we cried
As our eyes
saw the pain
America was
in shock
On that fall
September day
We all came
together
To help in
any way
America bowed
her head
American's
cried that day
Our mighty
city of New York
Was wounded
with the fall
American's
watched in horror
Twas
a nightmare for us all
But through
this tragedy
We've learned
one thing
Repeat after
me.....
Let FREEDOM
ring
Oh beautiful,
oh beautiful
With your
spacious skies above
We stand together
in this tragedy
For the country
that we love
From our mountains,
To our prairies
From our shores
of our bays
Old Glory
still flew proudly
When American's
cried that day
