~JENNIFER'S
IN MY HEART~
Today
you're turning 17; it is your special day.
We never dreamed
we'd celebrate your birthday quite this way.
With
flowers at your grave side, words you cannot hear.
Broken hearts
we've tried to mend; eyes that fill with tears.
An empty
space within our soul; a hole within our heart.
We miss you
more than words can say; our lives are torn apart.
I've gathered
pictures from the past and looked at them awhile.
The image
clearest in my mind is of your radiant smile.
The
love light shining from your eyes, still fills my heart with glee.
The love and
goodness of your heart still reaches out to me.
Your courage,
faith and trust in God, never seemed to cease.
I close my
eyes and pray to Him, who blessed you with such peace.
I wish that I could hold you Jen, if only for once more.
And tell you
that I love you though you've passed through Heaven's doors. I wish that
I could thank you, for all you gave to me.
I wish that
we could talk awhile, of things you now can see.
There's
so much more we want to say; so much we want to share.
We want to
know you're happy now, an angel shining there.
Touching lives
and reaching out; that always was your way.
But we must
simply know, my dear, you're safe with God today.
We know
the Lord must share the pride, that overflows within.
What a glory
to His name, your ministry for Him.
Even through
your darkest hours, you protected me.
Trusting God
to see you through, things I refused to see.
Lifting
me each time I fell, shielded by your love.
Encouraging
and urging me to turn my eyes above.
To see
the angels waiting there, to gently take your hand.
Away from
mine to lead you home, unto God's Promised Land.
The hope that
let us fight so hard and help along the way.
Replaced by
knowing, darling Jen, we'll meet again someday.
Until then,
your memories will have to be enough.
To lift us
as you always did, whenever things got rough.
We'll
see your face among the clouds, as sunlight filters through.
We'll see
you in each budding flower and every radiant bloom.
We'll see
you in each twinkling star that fills the sky with light.
We'll see
you in each sparkling snow that falls throughout the night.
We'll feel
you in each gentle breeze, and feel you in the rain.
That leaves
wet drops, you used to wipe, across the windowpane.
But most of
all, we hope you know, we'll never be apart.
Love made
a special place for you, you're buried in our hearts.
With all my
love, Jennifer

~THE
CORD~
~Author Unknown~
We are connected,
my child and
I,
by an invisible
cord,
not seen by
the eye.
Its not like
the cord,
that connects
us "till birth"
this cord
can't be seen,
by any on
earth.
This cord does
it's work,
right from
the start,
the invisible
cord,
from my child
to me.
The strength
of this cord,
is hard to
describe,
it can't be
destroyed,
it can't be
denied.
It's stronger
than any cord,
man could
create,
It withstands
the test,
can hold any
weight.
And though
you are gone,
though you're
not here with me,
the cord is
still there,
but no one
can see.
It pulls at
my heart ~
I am bruised
~ I am sore,
but this cord
is my lifeline,
as never before.
I am thankful
that God
connects us
this way,
a parent and
child,
death can't
take it away.
