FoyerFoyer: I stripped the existing wallpaper and sanded, and the painting was finished in early November. Stripped the beautiful woodwork that separated the living from the foyer, and repainted it white. The foyer is painted yellow, and it really makes for a warm welcome into the house. The stairs leading to the 2nd floor needs paint. I would like to paint the standards white and leave the steps the dark wood color they are now. The railing does need some patching of holes. There is a light switch located on the stair landing (bizarre) that I would very much like to move down to the first floor, but I’ll save this one for a little later. I’d like to replace the dimmer in this room with a regular switch.

The foyer is such a bright room but not over-bearing. It's the first room you see when you come in, and the first room you see when you come downstairs in the morning. Very warm and welcoming. |
