~WHEN TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME~
~Author Unknown~

  When tomorrow starts without me,
and I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things
we didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
as much as I love you,
And each time you think of me
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name
and took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready
in Heaven far above
And that I'd have to leave behind
all those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away,
a tear fell from my eye,
For all my life,
I'd always thought I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for
and so much yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible
that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
the good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared
and all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday
I thought just for awhile,
I'd say good bye and kiss you
and maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized
that this could never be,
For emptiness and memories
would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things
that I'd miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
my heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through Heaven's gate,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
from His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity
and all I've promised you."
Today for life on what is past
but here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
but today will always last,
And since each day's the same day,
there's no longing for the past,
But you have been so faithful,
so trusting, so true.
Though there were times you did some things
you knew you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven
and now at last you're free.
So won't you take my hand
and share my life with me?
So when tomorrow starts without me,
don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here in your heart.

~SPECIAL ANGEL~
~Author Unknown~

There's a special angel in Heaven
That is a part of me
It is not where I wanted him, but
where God wanted him to be
he was here for just a moment
Like a nighttime shooting star
And though he is in Heaven
he isn't very far
He touched the heart of many
Like only an angel can do
i would have held him every minute
If the end I only knew
So I send this special message
To the Heaven about you
Please take care of my angel
And send him all my love

~DEATH~
~Author Unknown~

Death is nothing at all
I have only slipped away
Into the next room
I am I ~ and your are you
Whatever we were to each other
That we are still
Call me by my old familiar name
Speak to me in the easy way
Which you always used
Put no difference into your tone
Use no forces of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always laughed
At the little jokes we enjoyed together
Play, smile, think of me
Pray for me
Let my name be ever in the house hold
As it always was
Let it be spoken without effort
Without the ghost of a shadow on it
Life means all that is ever meant
It is the same as it ever was
There is absolute unbroken continuity
What is this death
But a negligible accident
Why should i be out of mind
Because I am out of sight
I am waiting for you for an interval
Somewhere very near
Just around the corner
All is well

~HE ONLY TOOK MY HAND~
~Author Unknown~

Last night while I was trying to sleep,
My son's voice I did hear
I opened my eyes and looked around
But he did not appear.
He said, "Mom you've got to listen,
You've got to understand
God didn't take me from you, Mom
He only took my hand.
When I called out in pain that night,
The instant that I died,
He reached down and took my hand,
And pulled me to His side.
He pulled me up and saved me
From the misery and the pain
My body was hurt so badly inside,
I could never be the same.
My search is really over now,
I've found happiness within,
All the answers to my empty dreams
And all that might have been.
I love you and miss you so,
And I'll always be nearby.
My body's gone forever,
But my spirit will never die!
And so, you must go on now,
Live one day at a time.
Just understand ~
God did not take me from you,
He only took my hand.

~JUST FOR TODAY~
~Vickie Tushingham~

JUST FOR TODAY
I will try to live through the next 24 hours and not expect to get over my child's death, but instead learn to live with it just one day at a time.

JUST FOR TODAY
I will remember my child's life, not his death, and bask in the comfort of all those treasured days and moments we shared.

JUST FOR TODAY
I will forgive all the family and friends who didn't help or comfort me the way that I needed them to.  They truly did not know how.

JUST FOR TODAY
I will smile no matter how much I hurt on the inside, so that maybe my heart will soften and I will begin to heal.

JUST FOR TODAY
I will reach out to comfort a relative or friend of my child, for they are hurting too, and perhaps we can comfort each other.

JUST FOR TODAY
I will free myself from my self inflicted burden of guilt, for deep in my heart I know if there was anything in this world I could have done to save my child from death, I would have done it.

JUST FOR TODAY
I will honor my child's memory by doing something with another child because I know that would have made my own child proud.

JUST FOR TODAY
I will offer my hand in friendship to another bereaved parent, for I DO KNOW how they feel.

JUST FOR TODAY
when my heart feels like breaking, I will stop and remember that grief is the price we pay for loving, and the only reason I hurt is because I had the PRIVILEGE of loving so much.

JUST FOR TODAY
I will not compare myself with others.  I am fortunate to be who I am and to have had my child for as long as I did.

JUST FOR TODAY
I will allow myself to be happy, for I know that I am not deserting my child by living on.

JUST FOR TODAY
I will accept that I did not die when my child did, ny life did go on, and I am the only one who can make life worthwhile once more.

~LOOKING DOWN FROM HEAVEN~
~Author Unknown~

I'm looking down from Heaven Mommy
I don't like to see you cry
I remember how you loved me
I did not want to say good-bye.

I don't ever get lonely
At night Jesus rocks me to sleep
I play with the other little angels
From cloud to cloud we leap.

There's a new little angel here
His mommy is very sad
Her heart is surely broken
And like you, she hurts so bad.

Could you do something for me Mommy?
If it's not to much to ask?
You were always so gentle and kind to me
So I know that you are up to the task.

You see, I'm trying to help this angel
He misses his Mommy so
As we look down together from Heaven
There's something you should know.

We will soon be all together
But there is time to pass till then
Could you hold her a little while
And try to be her friend?

We don't like to see you crying
Up here in Angel Land
So instead of pointing fingers
Could you please take her hand?

It will make us both feel better
As we look down from up above
If you are all holding up each other
And remembering us with love.

~WHILE WE ARE APART~
~Author Unknown~

Distance may separate us but my heart will never let you go
For I carry a part of you with me always
It keeps me going through the day
It brings a smile to my face and tears to my eyes
It is part of my dreams that I live for and cherish
That part is my wish, my only one, to see you again soon
I know that wish will someday come true
But for now I will hold in my heart the memory of you
And never let you go.

~NEVER ALONE~
~Author Unknown~

Don't think you're alone Mom, because that's not true
Most of my time, is spent beside you.
I know how you feel and I do understand
But I'm near you, so near you, I could touch your hand.
Try to be happy Mom, try to be glad
I'm always with you, no need to be sad.
The curtain between us is so very thin,
On this side, there's peace and joy here within.
So when you are low, and you're feeling down
Remember my message, don't want a frown.
Please feel my presence, I'm willing you to be
Content and happy, just like me.

~I'M EVERYPLACE~
~Author Unknown~

Mom & Dad don't mourn for me;
I'm still here, though you don't see.
I'm right by your side each night and day
And within your heart I long to stay.
My body is gone but I'm always near
I'm everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I'll never depart
As long as you keep me alive in your heart.
I'll never wander out of your sight,
I'm the brightest star on a summer night.
I'll never be beyond your reach,
I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.
I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around
And the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.
I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring;
The first warm raindrop that April will bring.
I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
And you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.
When you start thinking there's no one to love you,
You can talk to me through the Lord above you.
I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,
And you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.
I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep
And the beautiful dreams that come when you sleep.
I'm the smile you see on a baby's face
Just look for me, I'm everyplace!

~WHAT MAKES A MOTHER~
~Jennifer Wasik~

I thought of you and closed my eyes
And prayed to God today
I asked what makes a Mother
And I know I heard Him say
A Mother has a baby
This we know is true
But God can you be a Mother
When your baby's not with you
Yes, you can he replied
With confidence in His voice
I give many woman babies
When they leave is not their choice
Some I send for a lifetime
And others for a day
And some I send to feel your womb
But there's no need to stay.
I just don't understand this God
I want my baby here
He took a breath and cleared his throat
And then I saw a tear
I wish I could show you
What your child is doing today
If you could see your child smile
With other children and say
We go to earth and learn our lessons
Of love and life and fear
My Mommy loved me oh so much
I got to come straight here.
I feel so lucky to have a Mom
Who had so much love for me
I learned my lesson very quickly
My Mommy set me free
I miss my Mommy oh so much
But I visit her each day
When she goes to sleep
on her pillow's where I lay
I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek
And whisper in her ear
Mommy don't be sad today
I'm your baby and I'm here
So you see my dear sweet one
Your children are ok
Your babies are here in My home
And this is where they'll stay
They'll wait for you with Me
Until your lesson is through
And on the day that you come home
They'll be at the gates for you
So now you see what makes a Mother
It's the feeling in your heart
It's the love you had so much of
Right from the very start
