I'm the creator and manager of MetsJournal and my name is Pete Martin. I live in Manhattan, New York City and while I love the Mets and all of baseball, what I love most is playing. I'm primarily a pitcher, but I play second base too. I have the misfortune of living in New York during the winter meaning I only have April through to September to play baseball and therefore during the summer that's all I think about.

I started MetsJournal in December of 2001. At around December 9th or 10th I began thinking of keeping a daily log of my thoughts on the Mets each day. I thought about doing it on paper or as documents on my computer but I realized that both of those can get lost or ruined, so then I thought of creating a website. At first I meant for it just to be for me to look back on, but after thinking about it for a while and decided to make it public, and on December 11th MetsJournal officially opened online.
