Rules of Basketball

The rules of basketball are not all that different now. The first and formal rule was made up in 1892. Dribbling the ball is a rule. That was taken from soccer. In soccer you dribble with your foot and it was just changed a little for basketball, it was changed to using your hands. In basketball there are boundaries. There is something called the "thirteen rules" it was made to help prevent players from running with the ball and tackling, blocking, tripping, or hitting each other. They had something called the foul-sent is when a player gets sent momentarily to the side. They probably broke one of the rules that is why they had to be sent to the side. Now in the game of basketball people don't get hurt as much as they did before. They had a rule of two -fifteen minute half times and a five minute rest in between. There were many changes to the scoring. One that was changed many times and is now set at one point is the foul shot.
